Walk through the home with the inspector so he or she can point out conditions to you that will go into the written report you will receive.  Make any notes of items you want to discuss further with your Realtor.

Structural may not be enough

Depending on your lenders requirements and your own need to know, you m ay order several types of inspections- structural, termite and environmental (mold and mildew).  Remember- the goal is your satisfaction with the property you plan to buy.

Ensure your inspector is qualified

Makes sure your home inspector is an expert and accredited in plumbing, HVAC, electrical and is a member of a professional organization such as the National Association of Home Inspectors, Inc (NAHI).  Don’t be afraid to ask for their credentials and certifications.
